Isabel specialises in Claimant defamation and has advised a number
of clients on a "no win, no fee" basis under Carter-Ruck's

behind a private aircraft. Mrs Howlett was successful in her action
against a millionaire businessman and was awarded £65,000, the
highest award of damages by a jury in 2003, in addition to an injunction
and costs.
Mrs Howlett, again advised by Isabel together with Adam Tudor, brought
a further libel claim in May 2005, and was this time awarded £22,500
by the jury.
Isabel has successfully represented clients in claims against a number
of national newspapers and broadcasters. She also advises on civil harassment,
data protection issues and the law relating to the promotion of prize
competitions.
