Rebecca Toman

Rebecca read law at Kingston University and went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London. Rebecca trained at Carter-Ruck and qualified in 2010.
Rebecca specialises in litigation and divides her time between media, employment and commercial matters undertaking both Claimant and Defendant work. Rebecca's clients have included television personalities, actresses, models, MP's, business people, journalists, private individuals and a range of companies.
Rebecca has considerable experience in media litigation, having secured numerous apologies and settlements for clients.
Rebecca acted for model and reality TV star Danielle Lloyd in her successful libel action against the Daily Mirror and obtained an apology, statement in open Court, costs and a substantial sum in damages. Rebecca has also acted for model Larissa Summers and secured substantial privacy damages and costs from the News of the World. More recently Rebecca obtained an apology, damages and costs from The Sun newspaper on behalf of the television actress Sarah Lawrence.
Rebecca acts for various individuals and companies on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
Rebecca regularly advises clients on termination agreements, employment contracts, employee rights, unfair and wrongful dismissal cases and proceedings in the Employment Tribunal including for many journalists. Rebecca's recent work has included advising a large publishing company on disciplinary and grievance procedures and securing a very substantial settlement in a discrimination case.
In addition to her employment and media work Rebecca also undertakes general commercial litigation cases including advising individuals and companies on breach of contract and financial miss-selling matters.
Rebecca is a member of the Media Society and an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
