Amjad Sarwar has won very substantial libel damages following the settlement of complaints made against a number of national newspapers as well as Sky News, ITN and Channel 4 news.

The newspapers and broadcasters had falsely alleged that Mr Sarwar was a suspect in the alleged plots to blow up a number of British aircraft using “liquid bombs” in the summer of 2006, in what would have been the worst terrorist atrocity in British history. The newspapers all published apologies to Mr Sarwar, and full apologies have been broadcast on the ITV national and local news, Channel 4 and More 4 news as well as Sky news.
